INFINITUM Signs A Cooperation Agreement with Belarus Central Depositary and Belarusbank
On September 27, 2018 at the 15th International Conference of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories, a Cooperation Agreement was signed by the Republican Unitary Enterprise Republican Central Depository of Securities (Republic of Belarus), the open joint stock company Saving Bank Belarusbank and INFINITUM Asset Services.
The document reiterated the obligations of the parties to cooperate with the purpose of further development of the financial market of the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union). The agreement provides for exchange of knowledge and professional experience related to functioning of financial markets, including institutions of the collective investments market, as well as mutual support in reaching goals and business objectives of the parties.
INFINITUM was the first Russian depositary to open a correspondent account with the Central Depositary of the Republic of Belarus in 2008, which enabled Russian deponents to deal with securities of Belarus corporate emitters. In April 2018, INFINITUM became one of the two Russian infrastructural institutions that were the first to get the status of an authorized depository able to register rights to state securities of the Republic of Belarus. Thus, signing the agreement was completely in line with the policy of tight cooperation between INFINITUM and the Republic of Belarus.
